Even as the turnover on the bourses has been steadily dipping over the last few months, the value of online equity transactions is slowly crawling back to the January levels due to increased short-term trading, rising exposure to derivatives, value-buying and averaging by retail investors.

The average monthly volumes in the cash market have been steady at around Rs 2,620 crore, while the derivatives segment has registered over Rs 7,522 crore. The spurt in F&O volumes has resulted in a steep rise in net-based trading.
