State Bank gets RBI nod for SocGen JV

MUMBAI: State Bank of India, said on Thursday it had got Reserve bank approval for its proposed joint venture with a unit of French bank Societe Generale.

The venture with Societe Generale Securities Services to offer custody and related services is expected to start operations by the first quarter of 2009, SBI said in a statement.

State Bank would hold 65 percent in the venture, it said.
